Nigeria Records 118 COVID-19 Infections, Total 59593

Nigeria has recorded 118 confirmed new cases of COVID-19, making a total of 59583 infections.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC made the disclosure through its verified Twitter handle, Tuesday night.

The health agency noted that the new cases were reported from 14 states of the federation.
This comes as African COVID-19 infections hit 1,518,662 with death toll reaching 36,921.

South Africa is currently leading with the highest burden in Africa with 682, 215 infections and 17,016 deaths, closely followed by Morocco with 134,695 cases and 2,369 deaths.

The health agency listed affected states to include Lagos-41, Rivers-19, Osun-17, Nasarawa-13.
Others are Kaduna -5, Anambra-5, Edo -3, Ogun-3, Kwara -3, Ondo-3, Katsina-2, Niger-2, Plateau-1, and Akwa Ibom -1.

It tweeted thus: “On the 6th of October 2020, 118 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 59583 cases have been confirmed, 51308 cases have been discharged and 1113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

“The 118 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (41), Rivers (19), Osun (17), Nasarawa (13), Kaduna (5), Anambra (5), Edo (3), Ogun (3), Kwara (3), Ondo (3), Katsina (2), Niger (2), Plateau (1), Akwa Ibom (1).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities”.
